Sam Van Rossom leaving Valencia after 10 years

Veteran Valencia guard Sam Van Rossom announced that he’s leaving the Spanish team after 10 years. Van Rossom, 36, is planning to spend the rest of his career in his native Belgium.

From 2013 when he joined Valencia, Van Rossom won two EuroCup titles (2014, 2019) and the Spanish ACB League championship in 2017. In 2019, he was named to the All-EuroCup Second Team.

Per Valencia:

Through an emotional video, point guard Sam Van Rossom has addressed the Taronja Family to communicate his decision to put an end to his ten-season career at Valencia Basket and his intention to continue his professional career next season in Belgium.

In relation to this announcement, the Club wishes to inform that the Belgian point guard will have an institutional act on the main court of La Fonteta to publicly say goodbye to the fans and to receive all the love from the Taronja Family once the men’s team season end, on a date yet to be determined. This event will be the first recognition of the Belgian point guard’s career as a taronja player.
