Panathinaikos completed the acquisition of the Spanish power forward Juancho Hernangomez, as reported first by ERA SPORT and confirmed by EuroHoops sources.

The two sides exchanged contracts for a two-year deal and the deal is officially announced.

The 27-year-old power forward who played for the Toronto Raptors, is a key member of the Spanish National Team, a 2022 Eurobasket champion and he is gearing up for the upcoming FIBA World Cup.

At the same time, the agent of “Bo Cruz” is Igor Crespo, who also represents Nikola Mirotic, while his brother, who signed a while ago in Barcelona, has a different agent.

Having said that, despite the recent rumors about Panathinaikos moving for Mirotic, the latest talks between Crespo and the Greek club were focused on Juancho, who had an offer from Barcelona.

However, with Barcelona and Crespo being at odds after the unilateral decision of parting ways with Mirotic, things about Juancho moving to the Blaugrana got even more complicated.

Meanwhile, with Juancho Hernangomez signing with Panathinaikos, the scenario of Toko Shengelia moving to Athens is dead, as Virtus Bologna announced last Friday.

The talks for a possible release between the side of the Georgian forward and Virtus have stopped, despite his advanced negotiations with Panathinaikos.
