Panathinaikos Athens swingman Marius Grigonis reacted to Mike James’ tweets following the win of the Greens over AS Monaco.

“He already tweeted? I don’t know, I don’t even have twitter so…” Grigonis told Eurohoops with a grin and facepalm gesture, when he was informed about James’ tweets that arrived very quickly after the game.

James tweeted multiple times after the loss of Monaco, expressing his complaints with the officiating of the game.

Panathinaikos crushed Monaco 88 – 64 behind a very strong game on both ends. While Grigonis had a slow night (5 points on 1-6 shots), especially in comparison to the performance (24 points, 7-9 triples) he put on against Anadolu Efes, he was particularly pleased with how his team’s performed on defense.

“I feel that we played great on defense,” Grigonis said. “We were very aggressive and we made it very difficult for them, I played very physical myself. I’m happy that each time we find a new player who makes the difference. They switched a lot, Mathias Lessort found the opportunity to find himself with a shorter opponent, we always found a way to punish them. I don’t know if it was a statement win, we have a coach who likes statements so I leave it to him.”
