S Monaco has officially announced the departure of Matthew Strazel, bringing an end to the French guard’s four-year spell with the club.
Shortly after Monaco confirmed his exit, Anadolu Efes officially unveiled Strazel as its newest signing. The Turkish club announced that the 22-year-old has signed a 2+1-year contract, completing a move that had previously been reported by Eurohoops.
Strazel leaves the Principality after playing a key role in Monaco’s rise among the EuroLeague elite, helping the club capture multiple domestic trophies and the French League title this past season.
The French guard established himself as one of the team’s most important backcourt players, averaging 9.2 points and 3.9 assists in the EuroLeague during the 2025-26 campaign. His standout performance came in April against ASVEL Villeurbanne, when he recorded 22 points, six assists, and a PIR of 31 in an 81-76 victory.
Eurohoops had previously reported that Anadolu Efes was closing in on an agreement with Strazel and that the Turkish club would have to pay a significant buyout to Monaco, as the French international remained under contract with the Principality side.
