Moustapha Fall underwent his medical examinations, put on the Panathinaikos jersey, toured the club’s facilities at OAKA, and gave his first interview as a player of the Greens.
Asked how important Željko Obradović was in convincing him to join Panathinaikos, Fall admitted that the legendary coach played a major role in his decision.
“That played a big role. You know, I know he’s a great coach. I wanted to be on a competitive team, so it’s a new opportunity for me. I have a lot of motivation for this opportunity, so hopefully everything will go well.”
Fall also looked ahead to experiencing OAKA from the home side for the first time after spending years hearing the Panathinaikos fans as an opponent.
“It’s going to be great. I think it’s going to be a great season. I know there are a lot of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR fans in Greece, and I’ve already been here many times, so I know what the atmosphere is like. Hopefully, I’ll be able to make them proud.”
Having already played alongside Kostas Sloukas and Mathias Lessort, Fall believes their presence will help him adapt to his new surroundings.
“I think so, for sure. If I need help, they’ll be here to help me. I have no doubt about that, but I’ll find a way. I’m good.”
The French center also discussed how he feels physically after recovering from injury.
“Very, very motivated. You know, I worked very hard all season long to get back to this level. So hopefully everything will go well. But I have a lot of motivation for it.”
Speaking about his ambitions with Panathinaikos, Fall made it clear that only one objective is on his mind.
“My goal is to win the EuroLeague. I think when you join a team like this, that’s always the goal. So the goal will always be the same.”
Finally, he had a message for the Panathinaikos supporters.
“I hope you’re going to support me. I hope I’ll do a great job for you. And hopefully we’re going to bring success to Panathinaikos.”
