Anadolu Efes announced the addition of Mike James with a 1+1 contract.
The former Monaco player moves to Turkey, replacing Shane Larkin, who left Efes for Fenerbahce.
In Istanbul, he will be reunited with his Monaco teammates Matthew Strazel and Jordan Loyd.
Widely considered one of the most prolific scorers in European basketball history, James became the all-time leading scorer in EuroLeague history, surpassing the 5,000-point milestone.
Born in Portland, Oregon, James played collegiate basketball at Lamar University.
After going undrafted in the 2012 NBA Draft, he built a one-of-a-kind international career playing for top-tier clubs, including Baskonia, Panathinaikos, Olimpia Milano, CSKA Moscow, and AS Monaco.
He was named the EuroLeague MVP for the 2023–24 season and won the Alphonso Ford EuroLeague Top Scorer Trophy in 2019.
James is the All-Time leading EuroLeague scorer with 5,916 points in 362 career games; he has the highest career PIR (6,181) and the most free throws (1,347). He also ranks second in three-pointers made (665), third in two-pointers made (1,287), fourth in assists (1,772), and is tied for fifth in steals (367).
James has been named All-EuroLeague five times, earning First Team honors on two occasions (2021-22, 2023-24) and Second Team three times (2018-19, 2022-23, 2024-25). He was named to the All-25 EuroLeague Team, which commemorated the competition’s best 25 players over its first 25 years.
He also appeared in 49 regular-season NBA games across stints with the Phoenix Suns, New Orleans Pelicans, and Brooklyn Nets.
