Maccabi Tel Aviv announced that Gabriel “Iffe” Lundberg has signed a three-year contract extension with the club.
The 31-year-old Danish guard emerged as one of the team’s leaders under Oded Kattash and played a key role in Maccabi winning both domestic titles last season. He was also named MVP of the Israeli League Finals after averaging 17.5 points and 4.0 assists in the series.
“I am beyond excited to continue this journey with Maccabi,” Lundberg said. “Together with the club and coach Oded, this is the place where I can fulfill my full potential and help our team in the best possible way. This is a great opportunity to play and compete for the EuroLeague title.”
Lundberg also averaged 11.0 points and 3.6 assists in the EuroLeague last season.
“The signing of Iffe Lundberg further strengthens the principle of continuity that has guided us throughout,” club chairman Shimon Mizrahi said.
“We are very happy that Iffe is staying with us,” Kattash added. “He is a highly experienced leader who has connected very well with the staff and the team. This is another important part of maintaining the continuity of our roster.”
Born in Copenhagen, Lundberg began his professional career in Denmark and won the national championship with Horsens IC in 2016. He later played for Manresa and Zielona Gora before making his EuroLeague debut with CSKA Moscow.
In 2022, he joined the Phoenix Suns and became the first Danish player to appear in the NBA. After four games in the United States, he returned to Europe and spent two seasons with Virtus Bologna.
Lundberg played for Partizan Belgrade under Zeljko Obradovic in 2024-25, averaging 9.0 points per game and helping the Serbian club win the ABA League championship, before moving to Maccabi.
