LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne officially welcomed Jae Crowder on Thursday.

The American combo forward has penned a one-year deal for the 2026–27 season, joining a squad featuring Joel Bolomboy, Myles Cale, Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada, Both Gach, Edwin Jackson, Bodian Massa, Patty Mills, Yves Pons, and Nate Sestina. This roster marks the first club coaching assignment of four-time NBA champion Tony Parker.

The 1.98-meter, 36-year-old veteran arrives in France following a recent stint with the Vaqueros de Bayamon in Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Joining them in March, Crowder played until July, averaging 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game across 28 appearances before being released ahead of the BSN Playoffs 2026.

In the NBA, Crowder previously logged 927 appearances. Selected 34th overall in 2012 by the Cleveland Cavaliers and immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks, he established himself as an elite two-way player. He later starred for the Boston Celtics, where he enjoyed his best scoring season in 2015-16, averaging 14.2 points. The Georgia native and former Marquette standout also posted double-digit scoring averages with the Utah Jazz, Miami Heat, and Phoenix Suns, while securing his best rebounding season with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2019-20 at 6.2 boards per night.

Known for his defensive intensity and winning mentality, Crowder made back-to-back NBA Finals appearances with the Heat in 2020 and the Suns in 2021. After subsequent stops with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Sacramento Kings, the versatile forward now brings his unique leadership and extensive playoff experience to Europe. Set to wear number 99, he is expected to be a major asset for Parker.
