By completing the sweep of Panathinaikos at Game 3, Obradovic has a perfect 9-0 record in the EuroLeague playoffs since he was named Fenerbahce’s coach.
In total Obradovic has now 30 EuroLeague playoffs under his belt and has won 23 of them, while losing just seven. He also only once missed the chance to qualify to the Final Four in a total of nine playoffs series.
The only series that he lost was back in 2006 when he was still the coach of Panathinakos against Tau Ceramica, or if you prefer the current name of the team, Baskonia.
This will be his 16th Final Four in 23 years with six different teams. Also this is the third time in his career that Obradovic qualifies to the final four three years in row (94-96, 00-02, 15-17)
During the last three years Fenerbahce kept out of the Final Four Maccabi Tel Aviv, Real Madrid and Panathinaikos with a sweep. The first two teams were the defending champs and Fenerbahce became the first team that got a sweep without having the home court advantage in the series against Panathinaikos.
