While this is not an official announcement on this matter, it seems that at this point the former number one pick of the NBA draft does not want to play basketball any more.
The 32 years old player was released from Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz on April 26, 2017, after playing 14 EuroLeague games and 15 in the Spanish Liga Endesa.
The translation of his facebook post is the following.
Hi guys,
Recently I went t my Facebook page after a long time and I read many of your messages. First of all, I want to apologize to you for “shamefully” not responding to the social networks and for all the messages I have not answered.
In all (or almost all) the messages you ask me the same things, the questions that you make me when you stop me on the street: How I am and when I come back.
So, I wanted to tell you that I am physically fine but, after the termination of my last two contracts by my wish, I am not looking for a club. All of the news you have read in newspapers, especially transfer news, has been invented (and this is nothing new).
There are a lot of reasons why I am not looking for a team and almost all of them are personal. People who know me, know this since months, but I wanted to share it with you, those who have been following and supporting me over the years because it seemed rude not to give you an answer. I am very grateful for the love you show me.
