Panathinaikos leaving EuroLeague

The proposals made by Panathinaikos owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos during the meeting of the clubs with EuroLeague in Madrid were rejected by both the teams and the management of the competition and, as of now, this means that the “Greens” won’t continue participating in the top-tier European championship.

According to Panathinaikos, this has caused a “definite split” between the club and EuroLeague. The current campaign is expected to be the last for Panathinaikos in EuroLeague and the team is expected to join a FIBA competition in the next season.
