Due to a not so good start of the season for Fenerbahce BEKO which currently holds a 2-6 record in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, there have been rumors circling around that coach Zeljko Obradovic resigned.

However, Fenerbahce issued a statement denying it and furthermore denying the rumor that Obradovic refused to meet with the club management and requested to directly meet with the president.

Per Fenerbahce BEKO:

The news that Zeljko Obradovic, coach of Fenerbahçe Beko Men’s Basketball Team, who according to some social media and media organs resigned today, does not reflect the truth.

Our coach is at the beginning of his duty, our management supports him and our team is full of faith that we will live successful days again.

Furthermore, we deny the false rumor, which was brought up by Ahmet Ercanlar, claiming that “our coach denied the management’s meeting request and wanted to meet directly with our President on Monday.”

We present the information to our community and the public.
