The NBA and the Nets are calling Delaney

Malcolm Delaney played injured in the semifinal of the Euroleague Final Four and despite the fact that CSKA Moscow beat Lokomotiv Kuban, he once again demonstrated his leadership qualities.

With the season practically over for him, as he said to his recent interview in Eurohoops, he would love to continue his career in the NBA. According to sources from the States, the Brooklyn Nets are more than interested in his services and they have already approached him. The Nets are not the only NBA team who would like to sign Delaney and among others, the Houston Rockets have also made their move.

Still the Nets seem to be more willing than anyone to give him his first NBA chance, while Delaney has also at least two offers from major Euroleague clubs on the table. One of them is Barcelona, which would like to build around him next season’s roster.

However, Delaney’s priority is the NBA and his side seems willing to wait all summer long for a contract from the other side on the Atlantic, with the risk of missing the chance to sign a big contract in Europe. Top Euroleague teams usually don’t wait  until August in order to complete their moves and the NBA teams in most cases decide during July what they will do.

In the extreme case than Delaney misses both the NBA and Euroleague opportunity, then he has one more interesting alternative. The Chinese CBA is waiting him, he has a multiyear deal on the table with multiple out clauses every season which would permit him to return to Europe or sign in the NBA even before the end of the upcoming 2016-17 season.
