Basketball Champions League and AEK have announced a press conference for the 2nd of September. While the subject of the presser has not been officially confirmed, it’s a common secret that the BCL Final Eight will be held at OAKA.

The panel of the speakers will include the Greek deputy minister of sports Lefteris Avgenakis, the general secretary of sports Giorgos Mavrotas, representatives of the regional government of Attika, and most importantly the Greek deputy minister of civil protection Nikos Chardalias.

The presence of the deputy minister of civil protection is a sign that a number of fans may be allowed to attend the event.

If that’s the case, then BCL will be the first sports event in Greece since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic which will be played in front of a live audience.
