Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem desperately needed a win over the already-eliminated Limoges CSP but the French team came to play and handed the Israelis an 88-83 defeat in Group G of the Basketball Champions League.

Hapoel (2-4) would have advanced had they won as Igokea (3-3), against which they have the tiebreaker advantage, suffered a loss on the road against Turk Telekom (5-1). Limoges ends its run with a 2-4 record as well.

Jerry Boutsiele and Nicolas Lang scored 19 points each for the winning side while Hugo Invernizzi followed with 17. Speedy Smith had ten points and 13 assists.

For Hapoel, J’Covan Brown banked in 21 points in addition to Suleiman Braimoh’s 16 points and 11 boards. TaShawn Thomas scored 13.
