D’Angelo Harrison joins Sean Evans, DJ Stephens on Prometey

Hereda San Pablo Burgos’s historic run to the top of Europe certainly served as an inspiration to many and the Ukrainian club BC Prometey might be the one to follow in their footsteps.

The club entered the Ukrainian First Division just a couple of years ago, and after their first season was canceled due to the covid pandemic (placed 3rd), they returned and won the 2020-21 championship for the first time ever.

They also debuted in Europe through the FIBA Europe Cup and are now prepared to go a step higher and try their luck in the Basketball Champions League. The team will have to go through qualifications first but considering the names they’ve secured, everything but would be a surprise.

In addition to players like DJ Stephens and Oleksandr Lypovyy who’ve been a part of the team last year, the club also brought in Sean Evans who in turn helped recruit D’Angelo Harrison.

Rashad Vaughn was also a crucial piece in Promtey’s run to the top this past season but he’s not under contract anymore and no extension or new deal has been announced so far. Although it’s not out of the question for the guard to return for another stint.

Harrison arrives off a spectacular year in Italy and BCL with Happy Casa Brindisi which was unfortunately stained by an injury that slowed down the American guard later in the season and ultimately stopped Brindisi from advancing to the Final Eight. He averaged 19.3 points on 40% from three in the BCL this past campaign.
