VEF Riga kept building on its 2021-22 roster with the signing of young upstart Anrijs Miska. Eurohoops had reported the Basketball Champions League team moving for the Latvian power forward.

Miska, 21, played for the University of Latvia, Latvijas Universitate, the past couple of seasons. In 2020-21, he averaged 13.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per match in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League, and 8.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game in the Latvian League playoffs, and also earned his first Latvia senior national team call-up.

An exciting season got him a spot among the remaining summer additions for VEF Riga, Quincy Ford, Ilja Gromovs, Maris Gulbis, and Jalen Riley. Also, Alexander Madsen, Kristers Zoriks, Artis Ate, and Emils Krumins penned a contract extension.

The Latvian side is on its way to Group D of the BCL Regular Season. They will battle AEK, Falco Szombathely, and one more team coming out of the qualifiers.
