Lavrio gets Alexandros Nikolaidis on loan from Olympiacos

Lavrio Megabolt has secured Alexandros Nikolaidis for the next season and acquired Alfis Pilavios, the team announced Monday.

Nikolaidis, 18, was loaned by Olympiacos for the 2021-22 season. The young Greek guard has logged four Turkish Airlines EuroLeague appearances with the Reds highlighted by his six points in 17 minutes against LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in February 2020. He is coming off 14.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game in Greece’s second-tier division with the Olympiacos junior team.

Pilavios, 21, was featured at the Panathinaikos junior team before moving to Old Dominion in 2017. He registered 1.3 points per game in the 2020-21 season completing his NCAA career with the Monarchs.

Dimitris Kaklamanakis, Jerry Smith, Kenny Goins, Marcus Lewis, and Al-Wajid Aminu have already been announced by the Greek side preparing for the Basketball Champions League. Also, Vassilis Mouratos and Petros Geromichalos both extended their contracts.

The team coached by Christos Serelis is heading to the BCL Regular Season as a part of Group C along with Nizhny Novgorod, JDA Dijon, and Unicaja Malaga.
