Hereda San Pablo Burgos has loaned young Hungarian guard Adam Somogyi to Falco Szombathely for the 2021-22 season, the teams announced on Monday.

Somogyi, 21, joined the Spanish side in early August. He signed a contract for the 2021-22 season with an option for two additional seasons. He since was part of the training camp of Burgos but will add on the retaining bid of his home country’s league champions this season.

The young Hungarian guard spent the last couple of seasons playing for Debreceni EAC. He logged 5.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per match over 37 appearances in the domestic league. He will return to Hungary’s NB I/A and also will be up for his Basketball Champions League debut.

The team based in Szombathely, heading to Group D of the Champions League Regular Season along with AEK, VEF Riga, and one more team surviving the qualifiers, already secured the services of Gyorgy Goloman and Marvin Clark, while re-signing Benedek Varadi, Szilard Benke, Abel Sovegjarto, Benedek Kovacs, and Boris Barac.

In other BCL transfer news, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem inked Sagiv David to a one-year contract growing the list of offseason newcomers. Kaiser Gates, Retin Obasohan, Sean Kilpatrick, Jalen Adams, Amit Gershon, Willy Workman, Thon Maker, Itay Segev, and Anthony Bennett were previously added to the squad alongside returning players Adam Ariel, Eylon Sasson, and Yuval Sznajderman.

The Israeli side, coached by Oren Amiel, will be competing in Group B of the Regular Season opposite Pinar Karsiyaka, Baxi Manresa, and Arged BM Slam Stal Ostrow Wielkopolski.
