Pako Cruz scores 23, Tofas holds off Strasbourg’s comeback rally

Tofas Bursa managed to overcome its ups and downs against SIG Strasbourg and grab a 76-74 road win in the Basketball Champions League. Both teams now have a 2-1 record in Group F.

Tofas had a perfect 15-0 start but the French hosts recovered by halftime (40-34) and made a complete comeback after the break, taking over the lead for a short while (50-49).

With the score tied at 68, with three minutes left, Elgin Cook and Pako Cruz made a 5-0 run for Tofas which was crucial in deciding the winner. Cruz also made three of his four free throws later on to seal the deal.

Cruz finished the match with 23 points on 7-13 shooting while Cook followed 15 and Tomislav Zubcic with 13 points.

On the opposing side, Yannis Morin scored 14, Matt Mitchell 13 and John Roberson 12 points.
