AEK has suffered another huge blow, as forward Braian Angola will remain off action indefinitely, the Greek team announced Sunday.

The Colombian player underwent detailed scans after reporting feeling unwell, and the medicals revealed myocarditis symptoms, per Eurohoops sources. His condition is not life-threatening and if everything goes according to plan he will be able to return to playing at some point. For the time being, he has been ruled out of action indefinitely and will follow treatment and prescribed medication on his road to recovery.

It should be noted that Angola, 27, has also tested positive for COVID-19 a few days ago and the inflammation caused by it remains the main issue, as his agent Nikolaos Spanos informed with a statement on Twitter and the player himself clarified.

In his first season with AEK, Angola has been among the top contributors with 14.9 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game in the Greek Basket League, while he posted 15.2 points, 4 rebounds and 3.2 assists across 5 Basketball Champions League contests.
