Phil Booth sparks a late surge as Oostende gets past Igokea

Igokea m:tel was so close to advancing to the next stage of the Basketball Champions League but Filou Oostende managed to complete the turnaround in the series, as well as in Game 3, logging an 83-77 road win with an incredible late run.

Igokea was in control most of the game and after they took a 73-62 lead with six minutes remaining, it seemed as though they will be the team going to the Round of 16. However, Phil Booth stepped up for Oostende with both playmaking and scoring, sparking a huge 18-0 run from which the hosts just couldn’t recover.

Booth finished with 24 points (5-7 threes) including ten points coming in the final game-winning run for Oostende. He also added six assists and four rebounds while Levi Randolph scored 22 and Mikael Jantunen nine points.

For Igokea, De’Shawn Stephens scored 19 and Antabia Waller 15 points. Markel Starks logged nine points and ten assists.

Oostende advanced to the Round of 16 after winning the series 2-1 and will join Group K alongside Unicaja and U-BT Cluj Napoca.
