Following up on the debut episode of the Basketball Champions League Buzzer Beater podcast, the second episode became available Friday.

Coming in as a guest, Unicaja’s Dario Brizuela talked about mental health and the right team culture in Malaga and the Spain national team.

“From my perspective, Basketball is not the main thing for me. It can’t be the most important thing in my life. My family and my son born last week is my support system,” he mentioned at the top of the discussion with host Anna Andre.

“If you are not good mentally, your body will not follow. You need to stay calm,” he added on the way to further advice to other athletes on how to deal with similar situations.

“Talk. Communicate with your parents, your wife, your girlfriend, your friends, your wife, and your teammates. Be open.”

Brizuela, 28, is moving through his fifth campaign in the Champions League and third as a member of the team based in Malaga. Last summer, he helped Spain capture gold medals in the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket.

The next guest on the bi-weekly audio podcast was mental health professional Philippe from Mentally Fit sharing his insights.
