After a pretty balanced first quarter (23-22), Telekom Baskets Bonn ran away against BAXI Manresa, getting the imposing 87-69 win on the road to lead Group J and get the 7th win in a row.

TJ Shorts didn’t have an impressive night, as the BCL December MVP had only 5 points with 1/5 FG, but with 5 rebounds and 5 assists.

Collin Malcolm, who has scored an average of 16.5 points per game in his previous two appearances with the German team, led the way with 25 points off the bench. Tyson Ward followed with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Last year’s runner-up committed a lot of shooting mistakes, ending the game with 27/65 from the field. The technical leader of the Catalan team Jerrick Harding was the best with 19 points.

Devin Robinson tried to help, but his 15 points and 5 rebounds weren’t enough for Pedro Martinez’s side. Nobody else scored in double-digits for Manresa.

With the decisive 27-18 run in the third quarter, Tuomas Iisalo’s team completely dismantled the home side. They dominated the game with 10 steals and 23 assists, producing 17 points from fast breaks, while BAXI had 0.

With this victory, Telekom Baskets Bonn leads alone Group J of the Basketball Champions League Round of 16 after winning the first game against Bahcesehir. BAXI Manresa, instead, couldn’t keep on after beating Rytas Vilnius in Week 1.
