SIG Strasbourg traveled to Israel already knowing their fate in the Basketball Champions League Round of 16. With Hapoel Jerusalem beating JDA Bourgogne Dijon on the road, in fact, the French team mathematically qualified for the Quarter-Finals.

However, Marcus Keene still decided to drag his team to yet another win in Group I, leaving the purple-and-yellow home side winless after five games in this stage by beating it 80-65.

The former Varese shooting guard had 14 points as he keeps on being one of the best offensive options for Luca Banchi’s team. Leo Cavaliere took this role against Hapoel Holon, ending the game with 17 points and 6 rebounds, while the newest additions Rodions Kurucs and Tim Frazier respectively added 16 (with 8 rebounds) and 6 points.

For Hapoel Holon, which didn’t have his leader Joe Ragland, the Harris duo took over. Manny went close to a double-double with 21 points and 9 rebounds, while CJ finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists. Duke product Javin DeLaurier almost had a double-double as well with 16 points and 9 boards.

Last season’s Final Four participant Hapoel Holon will finish its 2022-23 Basketball Champions League at the bottom of Group I and it’s currently 0-5, while SIG Strasbourg is tied with Hapoel Jerusalem on top with a 4-1 record. In Week 6, they will face each other for the home-court advantage in the Quarter-Finals.
