Lenovo Tenerife ended its Round of 16 by beating Darussafaka

The reigning Basketball Champions League champions of Lenovo Tenerife won 75-71 in the last game of the Round of 16 against Darussafaka Lassa ahead of the Quarter-Finals.

The newest Lenovo Tenerife addition and former Utah Jazz player Leandro Bolmaro had 15 points before the first Basketball Champions League Quarter-Finals of his career. Marcelinho Huertas added 11 points and 7 assists.

In his first-ever BCL appearance, the 17-year-old Louis Riga scored his first three-pointer. Fran Guerra had 10 points and 4 rebounds, next to Giorgi Shermadini’s 13 points.

Matt Mooney led the way with 10 points, followed by Can Korkmaz’s 9 for the black-and-green team. Canberk Kus, who came off the bench, ended the game with 9 points.

After becoming the third player with more than 25 points and more than 10 rebounds in a BCL game this season last week, Gabriel Olaseni wasn’t available. The 23-year-old Ragip Atar replaced him with 9 points and 8 rebounds in his first-ever BCL game.

Lenovo Tenerife already locked the first place in Group L and therefore the home-court advantage in the Quarter-Finals in Week 5 despite the loss against UCAM Murcia. Darussafaka ended the season with a 0-0 record.
