Hapoel Jerusalem beat SIG Strasbourg for the home-court advantage

Beating SIG Strasbourg 71-63 in the last of its Round of 16 games, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem advanced to the 2023 Basketball Champions League Quarter-Finals with the home-court advantage.

Zach Hankins, who scored 28 points in the reverse fixture against SIG Strasbourg, his personal best in a BCL game, ended the game in France by going close to a double-double with 13 points and 8 rebounds.

Levi Randolph followed with 11, while Khadeen Carrington, who came off the bench for Aleksandar Dzikic’s team, was the highest scorer with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

On Luca Banchi’s side, DeAndre Lansdowne had 14 points despite starting the game from the bench. Marcus Keene, who dragged SIG Strasbourg to the Quarter-Finals, had 20 points and 5 rebounds.

Ike Udanoh was the best rebounder of his team in the loss with 9. Léo Cavalière, who scored 14+ points in each of his previous two games, the first time in his 50 appearances in the BCL that he managed to score double-digits in consecutive games, added 14 with 5 rebounds.

With this victory, the red-and-white Israeli team finished the Round of 16 on top of Group I with a 5-1 record, while SIG Strasbourg stays in the 2nd place ahead of JDA Bourgogne Dijon and Hapoel Holon.
