Jordan McRae officially joins AEK, Derthona adds Retin Obasohan

Jordan McRae, an experienced American guard, has officially joined AEK Athens after leaving Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The Greek club confirmed the addition of McRae, who has been performing exceptionally well in the 2022-23 EuroCup season. He was named the MVP of Rounds 9, 10, and 14 in the competition.

At 32 years old, McRae has been a consistent contributor, averaging 15.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game in the EuroCup. In the Winner League in Israel, he posted impressive numbers with 16.0 points, 2.8 assists, and 2.8 rebounds per game.

Having played 125 games overseas, McRae brings a wealth of experience to AEK Athens. He has previously represented teams such as Baskonia, Metropolitans 92, Hapoel, and the Bejing Ducks in China. Additionally, he has the distinction of being an NBA champion (2016).

Big move for Derthona Basket

Derthona Basket, a debutant in the Basketball Champions League, has made a significant move by signing former LDLC ASVEL player Retin Obasohan.

The 30-year-old point guard, who spent last season in Villeurbanne, averaged 6.9 points in 21 minutes per game in the EuroLeague., and helped T.J. Parker’s team win the Leaders Cup in France.

Obasohan, a player for the Belgium national team, began his professional career with Avelino before stints with Rochets Gotha in Germany, the Northern Arizona Suns in the NBA G League, Brose Bamberg, Nymburk, and Hapoel Jerusalem. His addition to Derthona Basket is seen as a significant boost to the team.

Christian Sengfelder moving to Bonn

The German national player, Christian Sengfelder (28), has officially signed a two-year contract with Telekom Baskets Bonn, as confirmed by the club.

Sengfelder has already played 171 games in the Bundesliga, spending the last four years with Brose Bamberg. In the 2022/2023 season, he averaged 11.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. He also made a significant impact in the FIBA Europe Cup last season, leading his team in scoring with 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while serving as the captain of the Bamberg team.
