Darussafaka Lassa enjoyed a comfortable lead most of the way, got the win in Latvia, and jumped to 1-0 in Group C of the Basketball Champions League Regular Season.

Guided by Yakup Sekizkok, the Turkish club prevailed, 84-75, over VEF Riga in Arena Riga on Tuesday.

Former Vefin Kyle Allman Jr. was among the top performers for the visitors. The 26-year-old guard from Brooklyn finished with 21 points in the one-sided Gameday 1 affair. His 15 points in the first half were instrumental in building a safe distance.

Kansas product David McCormack dropped a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double. Todd Withers threw in 14 points and Mason Jones paired nine points with 11 assists.

Scoring 20 points, Swedish guard Elijah Clarance stood out for the losing side. Brendan Adams followed with 17 points. Alexander Madsen and Isaiah Pineiro had 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Struggling to contain Dacka, the team coached by Janis Gailitis was forced down to 0-1. Injured Arnaldo Toro added to roster woes for the Latvia Pafbet LBL champions.
