Effective shooting from beyond the arc sent AEK Betsson into a commanding position and to the fifth win in as many Basketball Champions League showings.

The team coached by Joan Plaza dominated Dinamo Banco di Sardegna Sassari en route to a 110-79 victory in Ano Liosia Olympic Hall on Tuesday.

Lithuanian import Mindaugas Kuzminskas went for 21 points, four rebounds, three steals, and two assists in the Gameday 5 contest of the Regular Season. From receiving the November MVP award to adding 17 points, six rebounds, two steals, and one assist described the evening for Justin Tillman. Jordan McRae threw in 16 points, six assists, and four rebounds.

Tucking in 12/22 three-pointers, the Queen improved to 5-0 in Group D and became the first team to punch in a ticket to the Round of 16 of the Champions League. A 4-5 tally in Greece’s Stoiximan Basket League contradicts the brilliant form at the continental level.

The Giganti fell to 1-4 with one game left in the double-legged round-robin schedule. Highlighting the losing effort in Athens, Alessandro Cappelletti set his season-high at 17 points and dished out six assists. Breein Tyree shared a game-high 21 points with Kuzminskas. Eimantas Bendzius and Ousmane Diop remained sidelined.

Following two affairs in Italy’s LBA UnipolSai, the home game versus King Wilki Morskie Szczecin on December 20 will decide whether the team coached by Piero Bucchi can salvage a berth in the Play-In stage.
