DeWayne Russell pushed Oldenburg to the comeback over Pinar Karsiyaka

Despite being down by 12 points at halftime (58-46), EWE Baskets Oldenburg produced a comeback for the ages in the second half over Pinar Karsiyaka, beating the Turkish team 97-88 to avoid the elimination in this year’s Basketball Champions League.

DeWayne Russell was the hero of the yellow-and-black team, although he shot 0/6 from beyond the arc. He concluded with a double-double of 22 points and 10 assists, shooting 10/16 from two-point range.

Len Schoormann contributed with 18 points, while Kenneth Ogbe went close to a double-double of 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Vernon Carey JR, MVP of October in the Basketball Champions League, completely dominated the away encounter in Germany, scoring 24 points and grabbing 7 rebounds while shooting 10/13 in the area. Errick McCollum added 7 points and 7 assists in the loss.

At the moment, both SIG Strasbourg and Pinar Karsiyaka are leading Group E with a 3-2 record, while Filou Oostende and EWE Baskets Oldenburg are behind tied at 2-3. The last round will be decisive for this group’s results.
