BELGRADE, Serbia – 2022, 2023, and 2024. At 35 years of age, Giorgi Shermadini has done it again, getting to the third consecutive Basketball Champions League Final Four with Lenovo Tenerife.

Talking before the Semi-Finals with Peristeri, he expressed his satisfaction for having reached another time the medals zone after getting gold in Bilbao and bronze in Malaga. “I’m feeling very very happy, one more Final Four. We’re here again. All this long season we’re playing for this, to come playing in this Final Four. Thank God we’re here again, and we will see”, the Georgian center said.

Having already played twice against the Greek team in the Round of 16, splitting victories between the two sides, the former Olympiacos player is conscious about Vassilis Spanoulis’ team’s strengths. “Peristeri is a really good team. We have to play our game, especially in defense, they’re great in offense and they’re attacking very fast. We already played against them in the regular season, we lost in Athens. But the Final Four is only one game, and I think we’re ready”, he said.

Feeling it “a little bit warmer” under his feet with the newest innovation of the LED, Giorgi Shermadini also took time to praise Kyle Guy, who has been leading the Basketball Champions League in scoring with 20.6 points per game.

Considering Sasu Salin’s absence, the American guard needs to deliver. “Since he came with us he has been playing amazingly, he’s a great shooter and a great person. We need his shots, and it would be a good day for him to score from three to two points, from everywhere. The importance is to win the game, it doesn’t matter who personally scores”, Giorgi Shermadini concluded.
