Clinching a berth in the Play-Ins of the Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, Promitheas dug its way out of an early 18-point hole to beat Rytas, 111-95, in Dimitris Tofalos Arena on Wednesday.

Following two straight wins in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL Regular Season since the recent international break, extending the streak to Gameday 6 of the Regular Season set up a best-of-three Play-In series versus Elan Chalon, with the homecourt advantage to the French side.

Helping Promitheas close the BCL Regular Season at 3-3 and reduce Rytas to 4-2, 31-year-old Rob Gray recorded a game-high 30 points, also a new personal best in his 2025-26 journey. Among four more double-digit scoring showings, Antonis Karagiannidis posted an 11-point, 11-rebound double-double to go with three assists, two blocks, and one steal. Kendale McCullum did not suit up for the team coached by Curro Segura.

On the wrong end of the comeback, Ignas Sargiunas logged a team-high 24 points. Team captain Arturas Gudaitis put up a 17-point, 15-rebound double-double plus three assists, one block, and one steal.

Besides 32-year-old Martynas Paliukenas, dealing with a right shoulder injury and remaining sidelined, the Vilnius outfit was led by assistant Vesa Vertio in Patras, since head coach Giedrius Zibenas returned to Lithuania to welcome the birth of his daughter. Already secured on top of Group A, the continental campaign will resume in Group I of the Round of 16 opposite Galatasaray MCT Technic and two eventual Play-In winners.
