Joventut secured a home victory in the second game of the Basketball Champions League Quarterfinal series, easily defeating AEK Athens 88-66.
The Spaniards thus leveled the series at 1-1, with the third game, scheduled in Greece in seven days, set to decide who will advance to the Final Four in Badalona.
Ricky Rubio was the top scorer for his team with 13 points and six assists, Jabari Parker and Henri Drell added 12, Adam Hanga and Miguel Allen each scored 11, and Cameron Hunt contributed ten. On the other side, Frank Bartley scored 13 points, one more than James Nunnally, while Greg Brown III added 10.
The Spaniards effectively secured the win in the first half. After ten minutes, they achieved a significant lead (27-13), which they extended to 53-31 by halftime, and maintained their advantage with solid play in the second half.
The winner of this series will face the winner of the series between Unicaja and ALBA in the Final Four.
