Nicolas Laprovittola is the new member of Joventut, announced the club on its website.

After five seasons with Barcelona and two with Real Madrid, Lapro has returned to Joventut, where he played during 2018 and then in the 2018-2019 season.

One of the best guards in the history of the Endesa League also played in Spain for Estudiantes, which was his second European club after his time at Rytas. He then played for the San Antonio Spurs, Baskonia, and Zenit before joining Joventut in 2018.

Now he will once again be at the disposal of this club, which has big ambitions in Spain and the Basketball Champions League.

Joventut’s statement and biography

ASISA Joventut Badalona has reached an agreement with Nico Laprovittola for the Argentine guard to once again wear the green-and-black jersey and join the first team for the next three seasons, in what is one of the most special pieces of news in the Club’s recent history.

Nico Laprovittola (31/01/1990, Morón, Argentina) is a 1.90 m guard who needs little introduction. Considered one of the most decisive players in European basketball, the Argentine stands out for his playmaking ability, court vision and talent for creating advantages both in half-court sets and in transition. His reading of the pick-and-roll, his scoring ability and his leadership on the court make him a difference-making player, capable of raising his teammates’ level and taking responsibility at decisive moments.

His competitive character and his connection with the fans made his first spell in Badalona one of the most memorable in the Club’s recent history (2017–2019, with 55 official games). In the first year, he was key in securing the team’s survival when the situation was critical. And in the 2018–19 season he put together a campaign that will forever remain in Penya’s memory. That year, Laprovittola led the team on the court and crowned an extraordinary season with recognition as MVP of the Liga Endesa (17.1 points, 6.4 assists and 17.7 PIR).

The paths of the club and the player separated, but the bond was never broken. Today, years later (after spells at Real Madrid and Barça), this story is writing a new chapter. Nico Laprovittola returns to the Olímpic. He returns to Badalona. He returns to ASISA Joventut. He returns to the place where he was happy and where the fans made him one of their own.

Welcome back home, Nico.
