Galatasaray inks a deal with Serbian center Alen Smailagic, AEK adds Landers Nolley II

Galatasaray officially announced that it has reached an agreement with the 24-year-old Serbian big man Alen Smailagic, who last played for Virtus Segafredo Bologna.

In the club’s statement, it was noted that Smailagic, who has experience in both the NBA and the EuroLeague, will now wear the Galatasaray jersey, and they wished him success.

Alen Smailagic began his basketball career in the youth system of BC Beko and took his first step into the G League in 2018 with the Santa Cruz Warriors. A year later, he joined the Golden State Warriors and played in the NBA, before returning to Europe in 2021.

Under Zeljko Obradovic at Partizan, Smailagic won the ABA League, and later, with Zalgiris Kaunas, he captured the Lithuanian league and Lithuanian Cup titles.

Last season, the 2.08 m big man played for Virtus Bologna, while averaging 7.4 points in the EuroLeague over 31 games.

In addition to his club career, Smailagic has for many years been a member of the Serbia senior national team.

AEK adds Landers Nolley II

AEK announced the signing of Landers Nolley, who previously wore the jersey of Aris. According to the club, the player signed a one-year contract.

Last season, the 26-year-old guard/forward played in France (Nancy), Canada (Brampton), and Syria (Al-Ittihad Aleppo), while in the past he has played basketball in Lebanon, Venezuela, and Taiwan.

The American guard/forward has signed a contract until the summer of 2027.
