Banvit got an important road victory against AEK in an exciting game with the final score being 74 – 70. The Turkish team improved to 2-1 while the Greeks are left at 1-2.

Banvit’ defense kept the hosts in low shooting percentages from the field in the first half. The Greeks didn’t give up, but Banvit was leading 38-33 at the break. The last quarter proved to be the most decisive as guests controlled it after leading by 15 and despite the final score, they had things under control.

Andy Rautins made his debut for Banvit and scored six points on two threes. Gasper Vidmar and Angelo Caloiaro paced the winners while AEK was led by Manny Harris who had 18 points.

The key: A 10 – 0 run starting the last quarter decided the game for Banvit. The lead was 65 – 50 at that point (33′) and AEK couldn’t get into shooting distance after that.

The star:  Caloiaro contributed 13 points and 6 assists while Vidmar added 12 and 6 boards for Banvit.
