Neptunas torches Gaziantep at home

Neptunas Klaipeda prevailed over Gaziantep 114-73 with the best overall performance in the Basketball Champions League so far this season.

It was a one-way situation from the start as the hosts took a 30-24 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Turkish team had no idea how to stop Neptunas in defense as they scored 58 points in the first half shooting 7/14 for three. The halftime break didn’t bring any improvement for Gaziantep as they just couldn’t keep the pace with the Lithuanians trailing by 41 at the end.

The Key: Amazing team effort, smooth offense and “hot” hand put Neptunas in full control. Also, grabbing 20 (45-25) rebounds more than an opponent helps you a lot.

The Star: When the whole team plays in such outstanding manner it is not easy to choose one player, but Arnas Butkevicius was close to a triple-double with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists.

Neptunas moved to a strong 3-1 record and Gaziantep fell to a 2-2.
