Three in a row for Nymburk

CEZ Nymburk upset Nanterre 92 on the road beating them 90-84 on Day 8 of the Basketball Champions League. This was a third victory in the row for CEZ Nymubrk as they now stand on a 5-3 record same as the Nanterre.

Nanterre opened the last period with a 6-0 run thanks to Jamar Wilson who made back-to-back corner three-pointers to cut that gap. With two minutes left on the clock, the game was tied at 80-80 thanks to Jamal Shuler who scored five straight points for Nanterre. Unfortunately for the home crowd, Nanterre stopped there, not being able to overtake the lead.

The guests started the game on the right foot as they had a solid lead after the first quarter 23-14. In the second quarter, the home team was able to close the gap trailing 45-42 after 20 minutes of the match.

Nymburk outscored their opponent 22-15 in the third period making a double-digit lead before the last quarter 67-57.

The Key: CEZ Nymburk’s players had enough focus in the decisive moments of the match. On the other side, the home team went cold in the last 90 seconds and that separated the teams tonight.

The Star: Pavel Pumprla was the main force for the winners with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Nymburk’s latest signing Dardan Berisha helped him with 18 points.

Jamal Shuler’s 26 go to waste for Nanterre as they lost the match.
