First half made the difference for Neptunas

After back to back defeats, Neptunas is closer to the next round after cruising Capo d’Orlando 99 – 62 in a one-sided game in Klaipeda. The Lithuanians jumped to a 7-5 record and they removed Orlandina (2-10) with two games left.

The key: The game was decided in the first half. The hosts had a breakout start with 35 points in the first quarter with Edgaras Zelionis and  Simas Galdikas scoring 10 apiece.

Neptunas improved defensively in the second quarter, receiving just 11 points. At the break, they were in charge 66 – 30. Capo d’Orlando slowed down the game and avoided a historic defeat.

The star: Vytautas Sulskis had game-high 17 points for the winners. Laurynas Beliauskas contributed with 14.

Arnoldas Kulboka led all scorers with 18 in 6-of-18 shooting. Orlandina continues its losing streak with 9 consecutive defeats among all competitions.
