German Basketball Champions League club Brose Bamberg announced that the organization terminates the cooperation with CEO Rolf Beyer, effective immediately.

The reason for the decision of the club is “financial irregularities.” No further details are included in the announcement. Beyer was planned to leave the club and be replaced by Arne Dirks by the end of 2018, following a four-year stint.

The announcement also mentions that constant financial support by Brose Group (the club’s main sponsor) and Chairman Michael Stoschek personally, plus the aid by sponsors are the only things that can save the German club from bankruptcy.

Brose Group Commercial Director Niklas Beyes has been appointed CEO until Dirks takes over at the January 2019.
