AEK Athens announced the signing of American guard Kendrick Ray to a one-year deal. The 25-year-old player spent 2018-2019 with Maccabi Tel Aviv and Le Mans (on loan from Maccabi).

“The reason I came to AEK is for the trophies. A team doesn’t sign good players and neither good players come to a team if the final goal isn’t to win trophies,” Ray said per AEK.

Ray faced AEK as an opponent when he played with Czech club Nymburk. He had then posted 30 points, six assists and six rebounds in a win Game 1 of the Top 16 matchup between the two teams, plus 18 and seven rebounds in a Game 2 defeat. AEK proceeded to advance en route to ultimately winning the title.

Now, Ray will return to the Basketball Champions League with AEK while making his debut in the Greek League.
