AEK claims Greek Cup title

Kendrick Ray scored 16 points as AEK Athens beat Promitheas Patras 61 – 57 in the 2020 Greek Cup final to win the title for the first time after 2018 and fifth time in the history of the club.

Ray dropped nine of his points in the final period and seven of them in the final minutes He made the triple for the 51 – 54 with less than three minutes remaining and then drove for the layup that put AEK up 53 – 56.

Promitheas, that had come back from a 40 – 48 deficit early in the fourth period, never managed to tie the game down the stretch. Ray made 2/2 from the line for the 57 – 60 and then Charis Giannopoulos sealed the win, and the title, for the Athens side with a free throw.

Veteran guard Nikos Zisis won MVP after finishing the game with 11 points and a game-high five assists.

Leonidas Kaselakis led Promitheas with 15 points. Loukas Mavrokefalidis had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
