Italian Federation postpones all games due to coronavirus outbreak

The Italian Federation announced that all games in all league competitions have been suspended and postponed after “taking note of the governmental and regional directions on the protection of public health.” A coronavirus outbreak has erupted in the northern part of Italy.

“The Federation will continue to monitor the situation on national territory, reserving the right to take further measures,” the Federation’s announcement also mentions.

So far (Monday evening) at least seven people have died and there have been 229 reported coronavirus cases in Italy. Cities in the northern part of the country across the Lombardy region have been under lockdown.
