A tough start to the Legabasket semifinals for Virtus Bologna. The EuroLeague team lost at home to Reyer Venezia (83-91) in a thrilling finish.
Carsen Edwards (21 points) and Momo Diouf (16 points) were the most outstanding in the home loss. Kyle Wiltjer was Venezia’s top scorer with 26 points in the victory
Although Virtus started strong, Reyer Venezia bounced back in the second quarter to tie the game in Bologna before the break (46-45).
When the game was practically tied going into the last quarter, Reyer Venezia started to score good shots and break through on counterattacks to take the victory on the road (83-91) and start the semifinals with a 0-1 lead. A good 18-27 run in the fourth quarter secured the win for Venezia.
