Antetokounmpo and Gobert potential top targets for Mavericks

Giannis Antetokounmpo and Rudy Gobert could be top targets for the Dallas Mavericks, according to The Ringer. Both European stars are currently scheduled to be free agents in 2021.

With Luka Doncic already in charge at Dallas, possibly adding the 2019 MVP or the back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year would form an All-European team of sorts at Dallas. Just add Kristaps Porzingis into the mix.

Europeans or not, Dallas will be looking to upgrade its roster. The 2021 Free Agency is packed, but Kevin O’Connor of The Ringer revealed that the organization already has its first targets in mind, Antetokounmpo and Gobert.

“If the Mavs wait until 2021, they could have enough cap space to pursue a max free agent, depending on what the salary cap is. Plan A remains Giannis and Plan B could be Rudy Gobert. Even if Giannis and Gobert go elsewhere, the 2021 class still could include Gordon Hayward and Jrue Holiday.”

The Greek Freak is expected to be an option for several teams provided he does not previously sign a contract extension with the Milwaukee Bucks. The French center can be an incredible addition as well, for the Mavericks or any other side.
