Lakers cutting Cousins, targeting Morris

The Los Angeles Lakers are planning to waive center DeMarcus Cousins per ESPN. According to the same report, the Lakers want to have a roster available on their roster to add forward Markieff Morris.

Morris and the Detroit Pistons have reached a buyout agreement which includes the player’s option for 2020-2021, the team announced Friday (21/2). He’s been averaging 11.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists this season.

Cousins will become a free agent once he clears waivers while still recovering from an ACL injury. The four-time All-Star big man was hurt during a workout session in Las Vegas last August. He had agreed on a one-year deal with the Lakers in July.
