The Los Angeles Lakers are bringing in swingman J.R. Smith to a contract for the rest of the season, according to reports by Marc Stein of The New York Times. The Lakers recently lost shooting guard Avery Bradley, as decided not to return for the restart of the 2019-20 season and have been on the lookout for his replacement before the re-start of the season in Orlando.

Smith will join his former longtime teammate LeBron James with whom he spent four seasons in Cleveland Cavaliers. 34-year-old Smith has career averages of 12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists across 15 NBA seasons.
