Kings hopeful to have Alex Len available when games begin

While Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton hopes that center Alex Len will be ready to play when the NBA restart officially launches, he acknowledges that his player may stay sidelined miss the premiere.

“We are hopeful. He’s working hard. But he hasn’t joined any 5-on-5 drills yet. We’re hopeful that we’ll have him when the games start but there’s a chance, we don’t, Walton said in a zoom call. After completing their scrimmages with a comeback win over the Los Angeles Clippers, the Kings playing vs. the San Antonio Spurs Friday (July 31).

Len is trying to fully get incorporated in the team after recovering from coronavirus. The Ukrainian center had announced that he was diagnosed with COVID-19 during NBA’s mandatory testing for the resumption of the season.

Before March’s suspension, Len was averaging 8.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.
