“Micic will be next year in the NBA, we will know in July where”

Vasilije Micic is having a stellar season with Anadolu Efes, he is going to be a free agent in the summer and his NBA rights belong to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, while it’s a logical assumption that he will end up playing in Oklahoma City, his agent Misko Raznatovic suggested to everyone to be patient at this point of the season.

While speaking to the Greek national television basketball show “Jumball”, Raznatovic clarified the Micic situation, while answering if he is bound to go to the Thunder: “This is completely false information. It’s not possible at this time of the year to talk seriously with NBA teams. I believe he is the best guard in Europe and he deserves to be in the NBA. And I really believe that he will be next year in the NBA at OKC or somewhere else. We will know in July”.

Micic was the 52nd pick of the 2014 NBA Draft. At 27 years of age, he has blossomed to one of the top EuroLeague guards, averaging so far in the season 16.1 ppg while shooting 56,4% in two-pointers, 35,3% in threes, and 85,6% in free throws. He also dished five assists per game as the backcourt partner of former Celtics’ guard Shane Larkin.

And while it’s natural to assume that the Thunder are interested in him, the fact that OKC wants to build around Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and also bets on French point guard Theo Maledon creates question marks about Micic’s possible role with the team.
